Seahawks Practice Squad Safety Eyes 2026 Comeback

Maxen Hook, who spent the 2025 season on the Seattle Seahawks' practice squad, is looking to carve out a role in the team's defensive backfield for 2026. Hook initially signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent but was later picked up by Seattle.

During his college career at Toledo from 2021-2024, Hook amassed 356 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, seven interceptions, and 15 pass deflections over 52 games. His senior year was particularly productive with 107 tackles and two interceptions.

At the NFL combine, Hook recorded a 4.55 40-yard dash, and on the field, he demonstrates a quick ability to close on plays, good hands for takeaways, and sure tackling. Standing at 6-foot-0 and weighing 205 pounds, he is also noted for his ability to contribute near the line of scrimmage.

With Coby Bryant's departure, the Seahawks' secondary presents a potential opening. While the team drafted Bud Clark to likely fill a safety position, Hook has an opportunity to impress during training camp and compete for a spot on the active roster.
