- Davis' recent comments suggest long-term plans for him and Irving in Dallas.
Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving's partnership with the Mavericks has been significantly hampered by injuries since their February arrival, leading to missed games and potentially another playoff miss. This has fueled rumors of a potential rebuild centered around top draft pick Cooper Flagg.
However, recent comments from Anthony Davis suggest the Mavericks may still envision a long-term future for him and Irving. Davis expressed how close they are and how much Irving has helped him from the sidelines. The team has shown a winning streak, suggesting improved performance.
The Mavericks are reportedly evaluating their ceiling with Davis, not rushing into any trades. Despite injury woes, Davis's performance when healthy has been impressive, and extension talks are rumored. This indicates a potential investment in Davis and Irving as core pieces alongside Flagg.
