Olympique de Marseille is unlikely to see any new players arrive before the transfer window closes on Tuesday. Manager Bruno Genesio confirmed that the club's financial situation prevents any new signings. This comes after several player sales, including Mason Greenwood, Facundo Medina, Geronimo Rulli, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, alongside Leonardo Balerdi's loan move to Roma.
Despite these departures, Marseille has not yet secured any new acquisitions. The club had committed to significant cost reductions for UEFA and the DNCG, primarily by offloading top earners. However, key players like Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Geoffrey Kondogbia, who are on high wages, are still with the team.
Genesio stated in a press conference that "There won't be any recruits." He further clarified that for any new players to be registered, three or four more players would need to leave the club, making new arrivals highly improbable before the deadline.
