Palace Star's Wages Freeze Barcelona Move
25 Dec
Summary
- Barcelona paused talks over Marc Guehi due to high wage demands.
- Guehi is expected to leave Crystal Palace on a free transfer.
- Liverpool, Bayern, and Man City remain interested in Guehi.

Barcelona have reportedly stepped back from pursuing Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi following discussions, primarily due to his substantial wage expectations. The Catalan club had been monitoring the player since a potential move to Liverpool fell through previously, aiming for a free transfer next summer.
Manager Oliver Glasner has confirmed Guehi will not sign a new contract, indicating his departure at the season's end. Fabrizio Romano suggests a free transfer in the summer is the most probable scenario, with Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City among those still interested.
Guehi is free to sign a pre-contract with any club from January 1, 2026. His previous move to Liverpool was thwarted on deadline day last summer as Crystal Palace failed to secure a replacement.
