Maple Leafs Rocked by Injuries Ahead of Kings Clash

As the Toronto Maple Leafs prepare to host the Los Angeles Kings on November 13, 2025, they are facing a significant challenge – a growing list of injured players. In their recent 5-3 road loss to the Boston Bruins on November 11, the Leafs finished the game without their captain, Auston Matthews, and their starting goaltender, Anthony Stolarz, both of whom suffered injuries.

Matthews left the game in the second period after taking a hit from Boston defenseman Nikita Zadorov, which Leafs coach Craig Berube felt should have been penalized. Stolarz, meanwhile, was replaced by Dennis Hildeby after the first period, though Berube did not seem overly concerned about the severity of Stolarz's injury.

The Maple Leafs are already without top defenseman Chris Tanev and forward Scott Laughton, both of whom have upper-body injuries. The team has struggled at times this season, despite playing 12 of their first 16 games at home.

The Kings, on the other hand, are coming off a 5-1 road win over the Montreal Canadiens on November 11 and have won two in a row, as well as three of their past four games. They have been particularly strong on the road, with a 7-1-2 record away from home.

The Maple Leafs will need to find a way to overcome their injury woes and put forth a strong performance if they hope to defeat the surging Kings on November 13.
