Maple Leafs Extend Defenseman Stecher's Contract

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Troy Stecher has signed a two-year contract extension, as announced by the team on Monday. This new deal is reportedly valued at an average annual salary of $1.35 million. Stecher, who is 32 years old, contributed 14 points through three goals and 11 assists in 58 games with the Maple Leafs during the most recent season.

His NHL career spans 624 regular-season games across various teams including the Vancouver Canucks, Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings, Arizona Coyotes, Calgary Flames, and Edmonton Oilers, prior to his tenure with Toronto. Stecher has accumulated 25 goals and 106 assists for 131 points in his career, adding four goals and three assists in 29 playoff appearances. He also represented Canada internationally, winning gold and silver at the IIHF World Hockey Championships.
