Manchester United faces a managerial upheaval as Michael Carrick is reportedly nearing the sack. Following a dismal start to the season with only two wins in twelve games across all competitions, the club's leadership is holding an emergency meeting. Officials including CEO Omar Berrada and Director of Football Jason Wilcox are expected to decide Carrick's future. This comes after a series of poor results, including recent defeats to Como and Bournemouth.
Eddie Howe is currently the leading favorite to succeed Carrick, boasting a 60% probability according to Oddschecker. Howe's proven track record at Bournemouth and Newcastle has earned him high praise, including from Pep Guardiola. While no advanced talks are confirmed, the club appears to be targeting an English Premier League-proven manager like Howe. Julian Nagelsmann and Antonio Conte are also mentioned as potential candidates, but with lower odds.
