Manchester United has initiated preliminary discussions with club legends Darren Fletcher, Michael Carrick, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer regarding the caretaker manager position. These conversations are in their nascent stages as the club seeks to fill the void left by Ruben Amorim's dismissal on Monday. Amorim's tenure lasted only 14 months before his departure.
Darren Fletcher has been appointed as the interim manager and will remain in place until a caretaker is officially named. The club is concurrently planning to identify and appoint a permanent manager during the summer transfer window. Director of football Jason Wilcox has reportedly engaged with Fletcher, Solskjaer, and Carrick about the caretaker role.
Former United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy is also reportedly being considered for the caretaker position. Meanwhile, Oliver Glasner and Roberto de Zerbi are considered early contenders for the full-time managerial job, though Glasner has declined to comment on speculation.
