31 Oct
Summary
- Manchester City and Brighton face off again after a Carabao Cup penalty shootout.
- City aims to rebound in the league after a loss to Aston Villa.
- Brighton boasts the league's top attack but recently lost to Liverpool.
Manchester City and Brighton are set for a quick rematch on Saturday, October 31, just days after their Carabao Cup encounter. City secured advancement in that midweek fixture via a penalty shootout following a 2-2 draw. This league meeting follows City's first league defeat of the season, a 2-1 loss at Aston Villa. Despite the setback, the Citizens remain atop the Premier League table on goal difference.
Brighton arrives in third place, boasting the league's most prolific attack with 23 goals in eight matches. Their previous four-game winning streak in the league was broken by a 2-0 defeat against Liverpool last weekend. While City holds the home advantage, Brighton has proven capable of challenging them, taking them to penalties recently. The prediction favors Manchester City with a narrow 2-1 victory.
