Man City Prioritizes Anderson Over Fernandez

Manchester City is reportedly prioritizing the acquisition of Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest this summer. Contrary to earlier speculation, the club has no intention of making a move for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez, who is valued at over £100 million. Fernandez's future at Chelsea remains uncertain following recent comments about his desire to play in Madrid. He was signed from Benfica for €121 million in January 2023.

In parallel, Manchester City is nearing an agreement with Enzo Maresca to take over as head coach, succeeding Pep Guardiola. While final details of a proposed three-year contract are still being negotiated, an appointment is anticipated in the coming days. This development follows the departure of several of Guardiola's long-serving assistants. Maresca previously worked under Guardiola as an assistant coach during the 2022/23 season and left Chelsea in acrimonious circumstances in January.

City is also exploring other transfer targets, including RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande and Bournemouth striker Eli Junior Kroupi, both identified as potential recruits last month. Diomande is considered a highly sought-after prospect, while Kroupi has impressed with his goal-scoring record in the Premier League.
