City Squad Revealed: Key Signings Start, Big-Money Transfer Absent

Manchester City's squad for their upcoming match against Bournemouth features Omar Marmoush and Nico Gonzalez, though winger Savinho, a significant transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur, is absent. Savinho is reportedly on the verge of joining Spurs in a deal potentially worth £85m, with Marmoush also being pursued by Tottenham in a separate negotiation.

Gonzalez has been linked with a move to Newcastle United as they seek to strengthen their midfield. However, Rico Lewis will start for City in midfield alongside new recruit Elliot Anderson and Nico O'Reilly. The club has also agreed on an £85m fee for Lille midfielder Ayoub Bouaddi and continues to be linked with Enzo Fernandez.

Tottenham, having recently been defeated 3-0 by Brentford, anticipates that Savinho's arrival will push their summer spending past £300m. Manager Roberto De Zerbi has candidly admitted that Tottenham is not yet prepared for the Premier League's commencement, stating, "I think we are working well but we are late for the start of the Premier League." He emphasized the need to "find the spirit, the soul" as a team.

Meanwhile, Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca hopes any further player departures will be adequately replaced. "If some leave, some must arrive. I'm not worried or concerned," Maresca stated, acknowledging that "many things can happen" in the remaining transfer window days.
