Harry Maguire has underscored the vital need for Manchester United to execute a successful summer transfer window, cautioning that the club has previously signed players unable to cope with the demands of representing Old Trafford. He stressed that quality arrivals are essential to compete at the highest level.
Maguire highlighted that while last summer's recruitment improved the squad, further quality additions are necessary. He noted that the team requires a larger squad for the upcoming season, particularly after not participating in European competitions, impacting player workload over the 40-game season.
The defender observed that many players find the club's intense scrutiny and spotlight overwhelming. He believes that with the right recruitment and continued positive momentum, United can aim to challenge for major trophies as early as the next season.
