Lynx Star Collier Sidelined with Ankle Injury, Coach Reeve Suspended for Game 4
28 Sep
Summary
- Napheesa Collier to miss Game 4 with left ankle injury
- Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve suspended for Game 4 due to misconduct
- Lynx trailing 2-1 in best-of-5 series against Phoenix Mercury

On September 28, 2025, the Minnesota Lynx announced that star forward Napheesa Collier will miss Sunday's Game 4 against the Phoenix Mercury due to a left ankle injury. Collier suffered the injury in the final seconds of the Lynx's 84-76 loss to the Mercury in Game 3 on September 27th.
The WNBA also announced that Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve has been suspended for Game 4 due to her "conduct and comments" during and after the team's previous defeat. Reeve was ejected from the game with 21.8 seconds remaining and is said to have "aggressively pursued and verbally abused a game official" as well as made "inappropriate comments to fans" when exiting the court.
The Lynx now find themselves trailing the best-of-5 series 2-1 and will have to try to even it up without their star player and head coach on the sideline. Collier had missed over three weeks earlier this season with a right ankle injury, and the Lynx went 5-2 in her absence. Reserve forward Jessica Shepard and Maria Kliundikova are expected to play more significant roles in Game 4 as the Lynx look to stave off elimination.
