Ertel's high school career concluded with a victory in the 4A State Championship Game. He was instrumental in this win, scoring 26 points, securing 10 rebounds, and providing six assists. For the season, Ertel averaged an impressive 24.5 points, 9.9 rebounds, 6.6 assists, and 1.8 steals per game, earning him the Indiana Gatorade Player of the Year award.
The event scheduled for Friday, April 3, will be broadcast on ESPN on Sunday, April 5. Notably, Purdue senior guard Fletcher Loyer, the program's all-time leader in three-pointers, is also participating in the event to conclude his collegiate career. Loyer previously won this competition as a high school senior in 2022.
