Diaz Rested: Colombia Star Sidelined for Upcoming Matches

Luis Diaz will not participate in Colombia's forthcoming international matches against Mexico, Paraguay, and Peru. This unexpected absence follows an agreement between the Colombian Football Federation and Bayern Munich. The primary reason for his exclusion is to allow the 29-year-old left winger a much-needed period of rest and recovery.

Coach Nestor Lorenzo revealed that Diaz has been showing signs of fatigue, stating, "You look tired, Lucho. You don't have your usual sharpness." Lorenzo cited Diaz's extensive playing schedule, which includes over 60 matches, as a significant factor. The player's club season with Bayern Munich has been described as decidedly mixed, with Diaz himself acknowledging he is "searching for my best version."

Diaz's performances for Bayern Munich last season saw him make 51 appearances. His holiday was further shortened due to Colombia's participation in the World Cup. Since his return, he has appeared sluggish and has struggled in front of goal, scoring only once in the opening game of the season.
