Spain's World Cup Coach Signs Until 2032

Spain's World Cup-winning coach, Luis de la Fuente, has had his contract extended through 2032. The Spanish soccer federation's board of directors gave their unanimous approval for the new deal on Monday.

This extension means De la Fuente will remain at the helm for significant upcoming tournaments. He is set to lead Spain during the 2030 World Cup, which the nation is co-hosting with Morocco and Portugal. His tenure also covers the 2028 and 2032 European Championships.

Federation president Rafael Louzán emphasized the importance of stability and trust in the extended project. He highlighted De la Fuente's achievements, noting his success in leading Spain to its second World Cup title in July, a victory that capped a record 38-game unbeaten streak.

De la Fuente took over the national team after Luis Enrique's departure following the 2022 World Cup. In his 50 games in charge of the senior squad, he has secured 38 wins.
