8 Nov

Summary

LSU's playoff aspirations significantly diminished after a loss.
Kiffin's coaching record against Alabama remains winless.
Alabama solidified its ranking and playoff contention.

Lane Kiffin and LSU faced a critical SEC matchup against Alabama on Saturday, but the team ultimately fell 31-13. This defeat significantly narrows LSU's path to the College Football Playoff, especially with two prior losses already recorded. The loss is anticipated to cause LSU to drop several spots in the AP top 25 poll.

For head coach Lane Kiffin, the result continues a difficult personal history against Alabama, with his coaching record against the Crimson Tide now standing at zero wins in six attempts. Meanwhile, Alabama improved to 7-2, strengthening their standing in the rankings and bolstering their résumé for a potential playoff run with a key road victory against a ranked conference opponent.
