Louisville Lands Elite Transfer Folgueiras

The Louisville men's basketball program has added former Iowa forward Alvaro Folgueiras, the No. 50 player in the transfer portal, to its roster. This marks the fourth transfer commitment for the Cardinals in the current cycle. Folgueiras, a 6-foot-10 forward from Málaga, Spain, was instrumental for Iowa, averaging 8.4 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. He was particularly impactful during Iowa's NCAA Tournament run, averaging 14.7 points in their first three games.

Folgueiras' collegiate career began at Robert Morris, where he earned Horizon League Player of the Year honors in his sophomore season. His commitment to Louisville comes as the team faces substantial roster turnover, with 11 players departing. This influx of talent, including Folgueiras, is crucial for Louisville as they aim to meet expectations after a season that saw them ranked as high as No. 6 but ultimately finished 24-11.
