Utah Mammoth forward Logan Cooley will be sidelined for at least eight weeks following a lower-body injury. The 21-year-old sustained the injury on December 5th during a game against the Vancouver Canucks. Cooley drove the net and collided with the left goal post, impacting his leg. Despite the collision, he completed the game, logging over 16 minutes of ice time.
This marks Cooley's third significant injury scare this season. He previously escaped serious harm after a knee-on-knee collision with Alexey Toropchenko of the St. Louis Blues on November 29th. Teammates assisted Cooley to the bench as he was unable to put weight on his left leg following that incident.
Cooley has been a vital offensive contributor for the Mammoth in his third professional season. He has accumulated 14 goals and 23 points in 29 games played. Cooley was originally selected third overall in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft by the Arizona Coyotes.
