Young golf star ditches Masters for LIV riches

Reigning NCAA individual champion Michael La Sasso has committed to LIV Golf, forgoing a coveted Masters exemption. The PGA Tour's recent reforms, including high-stakes 'Signature Events,' have aimed to retain top players but have also created narrower pathways for emerging golfers.

While La Sasso will miss the 2026 Masters, golf performance coach Lou Stagner suggested the significant financial gains made the decision clear.
