Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Drew Petzing has been impressed by quarterback Jared Goff's leadership since joining the team. Petzing noted Goff's dedication, describing him as someone who lives for the game and consistently communicates with coaches, even in the offseason.
The Lions' offense is also working to improve its fourth-down execution. Last season, the team's conversion rate dropped to 58.1 percent from 68.6 percent the year prior, partly due to offensive line struggles and injuries. Coach Dan Campbell emphasized that consistent practice in high-pressure situations is key to regaining success.
Campbell stated that the team has consistently practiced fourth downs since his tenure began, focusing on putting players in demanding situations to build composure. He believes the right calls and effective execution are paramount for success on fourth downs, a practice that will continue.
