A significant storm has led to the suspension of the LALIGA EA Sports match between Levante UD and Villarreal CF, originally slated for Sunday. The decision was prompted by a red alert for extreme rainfall in Valencia, with safety concerns for attendees being paramount.
Discussions involving the Competition Judge, LaLiga, and the clubs resulted in the consensus to postpone the fixture. This proactive measure ensures the well-being of fans, players, and stadium personnel amidst the adverse weather conditions.
The regional derby's postponement means it will be rescheduled. The lack of an immediate new date presents potential logistical challenges for both teams within the league's tight schedule.
