- The 19-year-old Nigerian winger is in Leipzig for his medical.
- Sani's addition aims to strengthen Leipzig's wing options amid injuries.

RB Leipzig is poised to make its first winter transfer window acquisition by securing the signing of Nigerian winger Suleimani Sani. The talented 19-year-old joins from Slovakian club AS Trencin for a reported €5 million, with potential add-ons that could increase the total fee to €6 million. Sani is already in Leipzig and is expected to complete his medical and sign his contract later today.
Sani's move is intended to bolster Leipzig's attacking options, particularly on the wings. The team has faced challenges due to player absences, including Yan Diomande's participation in the Africa Cup of Nations and untimely injuries to Johan Bakayoko and Antonio Nusa. The addition of Sani, who can operate on either flank, offers crucial depth.
Despite coming from the Slovakian first division, where he scored three goals and provided four assists in 14 appearances for Trencin this season, Sani is not expected to be immediately loaned out. His integration into the squad is anticipated to provide a specialist winger option for coach Marco Rose, enhancing tactical flexibility.
