Former Indian cricketer Laxman Sivaramakrishnan has announced his retirement from the BCCI commentary panel. After a broadcasting career spanning over two decades, Sivaramakrishnan expressed his dissatisfaction on social media regarding his exclusion from toss and presentation ceremonies.
He suggested that the lack of opportunities, especially with newcomers being utilized, led to his decision. Sivaramakrishnan, who represented India in nine Tests and 16 ODIs between 1983 and 1986, also responded to a user suggesting color discrimination played a role, confirming his agreement.
Known for his candid views, Sivaramakrishnan began his commentary career in 2000. His playing career included a notable 12-wicket haul against England in 1984 and a key role in India's 1985 Benson & Hedges World Championship victory.
