Laweryson Returns to Twins on Minors Deal

Pitcher Laweryson has agreed to a minor league contract with the Minnesota Twins, a deal that also grants him an invitation to the team's upcoming spring training. This signing marks a return for the right-handed reliever.

Laweryson had previously been claimed off waivers by the Los Angeles Angels from the Twins in November. However, his tenure with the Angels was short-lived, as he was subsequently released by the team. In 2025, Laweryson demonstrated effectiveness over 7.2 innings pitched for the Twins, recording a notable 7:0 strikeout-to-walk ratio while allowing just two runs, only one of which was earned.

Although Laweryson's contract is a minor league agreement, the competitive landscape for the Twins' bullpen appears open. This situation provides him with a realistic opportunity to potentially earn a spot on the active roster.
