Lakers' Watson Pursuit Hits Roadblock After Kessler Trade

The Los Angeles Lakers' aspirations of acquiring Denver Nuggets forward Peyton Watson have diminished significantly after securing rising star center Walker Kessler in a recent sign-and-trade. Team insider Jovan Buha expressed that Watson is no longer a realistic option for the Lakers.
Buha explained that Denver likely won't find the incentive to trade Watson to the Lakers, especially if the going rate is perceived as less than three second-round picks and a swap. The Nuggets might also be concerned about Watson's past hamstring issues.
Despite the unlikelihood of landing Watson, the Lakers are still actively pursuing offseason moves. They recently signed Matisse Thybulle and continue to negotiate with Atlanta Hawks free agent Jonathan Kuminga. Speculation also surrounds potential interest in former All-Star DeMar DeRozan.
