Philadelphia Phillies' Kyle Schwarber is rapidly approaching a significant Major League Baseball milestone. As of Tuesday night, Schwarber had launched his 31st home run of the current season, placing him in the lead for MLB home runs.
This impressive feat positions him to potentially break Babe Ruth's record for the most home runs hit in a player's first five seasons with a single team. Ruth achieved 235 home runs in his initial five years with the New York Yankees. Mark McGwire ranks second on this all-time list with 220 home runs during his first five seasons with the Cardinals.
Schwarber has recorded 218 home runs since joining the Phillies in 2022. With continued health, he is poised to surpass both Ruth and McGwire. This potential record underscores Schwarber's status as a formidable slugger in baseball history.
