Knueppel advanced to the championship round, where he scored 17 points. Although Damian Lillard ultimately won the contest with 29 points, Knueppel's performance tied him for the highest finish ever by a Hornets player in this event. He also became the sixth player from the franchise to compete.
The 20-year-old guard is having a remarkable rookie season, averaging 18.9 points and leading the league in total 3-pointers with 183. He is on pace to set a new rookie record for three-pointers in a season.
