Summary
- Edinburgh signs Kienan Higgins from New Zealand's Hawke's Bay.
- Higgins provides midfield cover due to existing injuries.
- He aims to join Major League Rugby in the US post-contract.
Edinburgh Rugby has secured the services of Kienan Higgins, a Scottish-qualified centre, on a short-term, two-month contract. Higgins arrives from the National Provincial Championship side Hawke's Bay in New Zealand, bringing additional depth to the team's midfield.
The signing addresses an immediate need, as Edinburgh currently faces midfield injury concerns with key players Matt Currie, Mosese Tuipulotu, and Charlie McCaig sidelined. Higgins will provide essential cover and competition for places until his contract concludes in March.
Following his stint in Scotland, Higgins is scheduled to move to the United States to play in Major League Rugby. His brother, Riley Higgins, currently competes in the Super Rugby competition for the Hurricanes.
