Khaleb McRae has made history by breaking the men's 400m indoor world record. Competing on Friday, McRae achieved a remarkable time of 44.52 seconds, surpassing the previous record. This new benchmark is 0.05 seconds faster than the mark set 21 years ago by American athlete Kerron Clement.
The significant achievement occurred at the Tyson Invitational held in Fayetteville, Arkansas. McRae, who is 25 years old, improved his personal best by 0.1 seconds during this event. He finished well ahead of the second-place competitor, William Jones, who was more than a second behind.
While McRae's time is now the official indoor world record, it's noted that Michael Norman and Christopher Morales Williams had previously posted times of 44.52 and 44.49 seconds respectively. However, these times could not be ratified for record purposes. The outdoor 400m world record remains with Wayde van Niekerk of South Africa.
