28 Sep, 2025
Summary
- Jamarion Wilcox, UK's leading rusher in 2024, arrested for sexual abuse
- Alleged incident occurred on Aug. 20 in Lexington, Kentucky
- Wilcox "will continue to be withheld from competition" this season

On September 28, 2025, it was reported that Kentucky Wildcats running back Jamarion Wilcox was arrested and charged with sexual abuse in the first degree. The alleged incident occurred on August 20 in Lexington, Kentucky, when a woman accused Wilcox of sexual assault.
According to the report, the woman claimed that Wilcox, who was visiting her roommate, entered her room while she was sleeping and got into her bed without her consent. The woman said she asked Wilcox to leave, but he refused and attempted to touch her again. The woman then called the police, who escorted Wilcox out of the apartment.
As a result of the incident, the Fayette District Court ordered Wilcox to refrain from any unauthorized contact with the alleged victim and to stay at least 500 feet away from her. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for November 3.
Wilcox, who was the Wildcats' leading rusher in 2024 with 590 yards and two touchdowns, has not seen the field this season. After the team's season-opening win over Toledo, head coach Mark Stoops said Wilcox was unavailable due to a "violation of team rules." The university has now confirmed that Wilcox will "continue to be withheld from competition and will not travel to South Carolina" this weekend.
