Kentucky Basketball Courts 2028 Star DJ Okoth

Kentucky basketball's new head coach, Mark Pope, is making early inroads with elite prospects for future recruiting classes. Among his targets is DJ Okoth, a highly-touted 2028 wing from Tennessee. Okoth, standing 6'6" and weighing 180 pounds, is a five-star recruit currently ranked 17th overall in the 247Sports composite rankings.

Okoth is scheduled to take an unofficial visit to Lexington this fall, coinciding with the Wildcats' Big Blue Madness event on October 2nd. This visit was reported by his mother. Last season, Okoth showcased his scoring ability with averages of 13 points and 5 rebounds per game, while his performance at Peach Jam further highlighted his offensive potential. His defensive capabilities are also notable, aided by a 6'10" wingspan that allows him to disrupt passing lanes and block shots.

The Wildcats face competition from several SEC rivals, including Texas A&M and the Tennessee Volunteers, who have also shown interest in Okoth. While a commitment is not expected soon, Coach Pope is focused on establishing a strong foundational relationship with the promising young player.
