Karachi Kings secured their place in the PSL playoffs with an emphatic nine-wicket win against Quetta Gladiators at Gaddafi Stadium. The Kings successfully chased a target of 196, reaching it in the 19th over.
David Warner and Reeza Hendricks were the architects of the victory, remaining unbeaten with scores of 89 and 87 respectively. Their powerful partnership made light work of the Quetta Gladiators' imposing total.
Earlier, Quetta Gladiators had posted 195 for 6 after batting first. Their innings experienced early turmoil with Hasan Ali taking two wickets in the opening over. However, a significant 147-run partnership between skipper Saud Shakeel (57) and Rilee Rossouw (90) resurrected their innings.
Despite Rossouw's and Shakeel's efforts, Quetta lost momentum in the later stages. Contributions from Dinesh Chandimal (30 not out) helped them reach 195. Karachi's bowling attack saw Abbas Afridi, Hasan Ali, and Rizwanullah each take two wickets.
