Kansas Basketball Honors Six Seniors in Final Home Game

Kansas will host its final home game of the season at Allen Fieldhouse, celebrating Senior Day against the Kansas State Wildcats. The program will honor a total of six seniors who are exhausting their eligibility this year. Among those recognized are Melvin Council Jr., Tre White, Nginyu Ngala, Jayden Dawson, Wilder Evers, and Justin Cross.

Coach Bill Self expressed his excitement for the seniors, revealing his intention to start five of them in the upcoming matchup. He highlighted the long tenures of walk-ons Wilder Evers and Justin Cross, who have earned their degrees and demonstrated great team spirit over their years with the program. Scholarship players Tre White and Melvin Council Jr. have also been acknowledged for their significant contributions this season.

The Jayhawks, having lost four of their last six games, are seeking a morale-boosting victory as the regular season concludes. They are projected to secure the fifth seed in the Big 12 standings regardless of Saturday's outcome. Kansas State enters the game struggling, positioned second to last in the Big 12 standings with a 3-14 conference record. The last time Kansas hosted Senior Night against Kansas State, they achieved a decisive 90-68 victory in 2024.
