Havertz Set for Arsenal Return After Injury Nightmare

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Kai Havertz is in contention to play his first minutes since the season's opening week, with a potential return this Sunday against Portsmouth in the FA Cup third round. Havertz has endured a challenging period, hampered by significant hamstring and knee injuries, which limited his playing time to just 816 minutes last year. His return to training on December 23 has been carefully managed by the coaching staff.

The German international's comeback arrives at a crucial time for Arsenal, as forwards Viktor Gyokeres and Gabriel Jesus have faced inconsistent form following their own injury returns. Arteta acknowledged the high expectations placed on Havertz but stressed the player's awareness of the demands at the club.
