Embiid Out: Sixers Slip in Standings
9 Mar
Summary
- Embiid's absence impacts Sixers' win-loss record significantly.
- Maxey and George also unavailable for upcoming games.
- Rookie Edgecombe could be a key player if healthy.

Philadelphia 76ers' star center Joel Embiid is set to miss at least another week due to a strained oblique, having already been sidelined for the last four games. This latest update means Embiid will be unavailable until at least March 13, ruling him out of several upcoming contests.
The team's performance noticeably suffers when Embiid is not in the lineup, with a 13-17 record this season compared to a 21-12 record when he plays. By the time of his re-evaluation, the Sixers will have played as many games without him as with him.
Adding to the challenges, the Sixers are also missing Tyrese Maxey (finger) and Paul George (suspension) for their game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Rookie VJ Edgecombe is listed as questionable with a lumbar contusion but presents a potential opportunity.
If Edgecombe plays, he is a strong candidate for player props, especially given his scoring average when Maxey is out. The Sixers have won only four of their last six games, slipping to the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference.
