Jockey Edgard Zayas experienced a harrowing moment at Aqueduct Racetrack during Sunday's eighth race. While attempting to move his horse, Glint, closer to the inside rail shortly after the start, Zayas' mount clipped heels with another competitor. This contact caused Glint to stumble and panic, throwing Zayas dramatically over the front of the horse.
Fortunately, Glint, running at the back of the pack, managed to avoid stepping on his rider. Zayas landed headfirst in the dirt but was able to walk away from the incident with only minor cuts on his hand and face, avoiding any serious injuries.
