The Ranji Trophy semifinal match remained tightly contested on its second day, with Jammu and Kashmir showing remarkable resilience against Bengal.
Bengal was bowled out for 328 in their first innings. In response, J&K faced an early collapse, slipping to 13 for three. However, Abdul Samad and captain Paras Dogra led a spirited recovery.
Samad scored a commendable 82, while Dogra contributed 58 and achieved a significant career milestone, becoming the second player after Wasim Jaffer to score 10,000 Ranji Trophy runs. Their 143-run partnership steadied J&K.
Despite losing Samad and Dogra, J&K managed to reach 198 for five by the close of play, trailing Bengal by 130 runs. Abid Mushtaq and Kanhaiya Wadhawan were batting as the day concluded.
