Summary
- JJ Redick believes Lakers can win championship this season.
- Lakers re-modeled roster for depth and scoring.
- Team acquired Kessler and signed wing depth.
Coach JJ Redick has expressed strong confidence in the Los Angeles Lakers' ability to become a championship-contending team this season. This bold assertion comes as the team has been actively remodeling its roster. Significant moves this summer included acquiring elite shot-blocker Walker Kessler and signing versatile wings Quentin Grimes, Ziaire Williams, and Matisse Thybulle.
The Lakers also added Collin Sexton, known for his scoring prowess, to boost their bench. These additions aim to improve both the scoring punch and defensive rating of the team's second unit, which struggled last season. Redick has closely observed the players during training camps and preseason games.
While the team might still benefit from acquiring another starting-level wing or forward, the current roster shows promise. Redick's vision is backed by a belief that the team's talent, complemented by strategic acquisitions, can lead them to the ultimate goal.
