QB Daniels Dons GoPro for Practice Insights

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels has been utilizing a GoPro camera mounted on his helmet during practice. This innovative approach was introduced by offensive coordinator David Blough, who aims to gain greater insight into the quarterback's perspective during practice.

The GoPro allows for the recording of sounds within the huddle and the quarterback's play calls. Head coach Dan Quinn noted that while the camera offers advantages in understanding communication, its effectiveness for evaluating deep throws is still under exploration.

Daniels himself shared that the camera helps him review his own play calls and how he communicates them to teammates. Although the helmet-mounted perspective may not perfectly mirror his eye line, listening back to his calls aids in ensuring clarity and alignment within the team.

This initiative highlights the close working relationship between Daniels and Blough, who previously served as assistant quarterbacks coach. The shared trust between them facilitates the exploration of new technologies aimed at improving team cohesion and performance on the field.
