Jason Kidd, recently dismissed as the head coach of the Dallas Mavericks, is reportedly nearing a deal with ESPN to become a basketball analyst. The organization let Kidd go in May, ending his five-year tenure.

Kidd's transition to broadcasting would leverage his extensive experience in the NBA. As a player, he was a ten-time All-Star and was instrumental in leading the Mavericks to their first NBA championship in 2011 alongside Dirk Nowitzki.
