Jalen Duren, a standout player who made the All-NBA Third Team, is currently in restricted free agency with the Detroit Pistons. Negotiations have stalled as Duren seeks a maximum five-year contract worth approximately $287 million, averaging around $57.4 million annually. The Pistons, however, are reportedly hesitant to meet this demand, with reports suggesting their offer is closer to $30-$35 million per season.

This valuation is considered a significant lowball by Duren's camp, especially given his strong regular season performance, where he averaged 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds. His improved offensive game was crucial for the team during Cade Cunningham's absence.

However, Duren's effectiveness dipped notably in the playoffs, averaging just 10.2 points and 8.5 rebounds over 14 games. His struggles led to increased minutes for backup center Paul Reed, potentially impacting the Pistons' perception of Duren's long-term value and their willingness to commit to a large contract.
