Kentucky PG Jaland Lowe Out for Season After Surgery
13 Jan
Summary
- Kentucky's Jaland Lowe will miss the rest of the season due to shoulder surgery.
- This is the third shoulder dislocation for Lowe, impacting his playing time.
- Lowe's absence leaves Kentucky without a natural point guard for the remainder of the season.

Kentucky Wildcats point guard Jaland Lowe will require season-ending shoulder surgery, head coach Mark Pope announced Monday. This marks a significant setback for the team, which has faced numerous challenges throughout the season. Lowe has experienced three shoulder dislocations, with the most recent occurring during limited play on Saturday.
Lowe, a transfer from Pittsburgh, had been a key player despite his injury woes, appearing in only nine games. A standout three-game stretch in late December and early January saw him average 15.7 points. However, his season was cut short after re-injuring his shoulder against Mississippi State.
The Wildcats, currently 10-6 (1-2 SEC) and ranked among the nation's most disappointing teams, now must navigate the remainder of their schedule without a natural point guard. Players like freshman Jasper Johnson and leading scorer Otega Oweh are expected to fill the void left by Lowe's absence.
