Jake Paul's Shock Support for Welsh Boxing Club
7 Mar
Summary
- Jake Paul donated 16 pairs of boxing gloves to a Welsh club.
- The club received support after the death of its founder, Nigel Davies.
- Initial reaction to Paul's support was disbelief, thinking it was fake.

Cwmavon Hornets ABC in south Wales received a surprising donation of 16 pairs of boxing gloves from professional boxer and influencer Jake Paul.
The support came after the passing of the club's founder and head coach, Nigel Davies, in August 2025. Davies, a significant figure in Welsh boxing, had guided over 100 national champions and was a coach at two Olympic Games. His legacy at the Cwmavon Hornets, which he founded in 1995, is deeply felt.
Jake Paul, who established the anti-bullying organization Boxing Bullies Foundation, learned about the club through a former boxer now working for him. Paul expressed that boxing significantly altered his life, making his decision to assist the club straightforward. The club's members and Davies' family initially found Paul's involvement hard to believe, suspecting it might be a hoax.
The club has seen substantial growth since Davies' passing, potentially requiring a move to larger premises. Paul also sent a video of support for a 10k run held in October 2025 in memory of Nigel Davies, further solidifying his connection to the community.
