Rajasthan-born Pacer Stars in Ireland's Historic Win Over India

Jai Moondra, hailing from Tonk, Rajasthan, achieved a remarkable T20I debut for Ireland, playing a pivotal role in their historic 34-run victory against India in Belfast on June 26. The left-arm pacer marked his international arrival by taking a wicket on the very first ball, dismissing Sanju Samson. He later removed Shivam Dube, finishing with impressive figures of 2 wickets for 25 runs in his four overs.

Moondra relocated to Ireland in 2021 to undertake a master's degree in Electronics and Communication at Technological University Dublin. He became a key player for Leinster Cricket Club in Dublin, contributing to their Irish Cup triumph in 2023. Following his studies, he secured employment as a product development engineer at Intel Corporation, where he worked for nearly three years before his departure in June 2025 due to potential work permit issues.

The talented cricketer's journey fulfills the aspirations of his late father, Giriraj Moondra, who had always wished for his son to become a prominent cricketer. His mother, Vidya, expressed pride, stating that his father's dream has now been realized.
