- Tournament set for September 5-15 in Barbados with four teams.
- Claxton recently selected for the West Indies Women's team.
Jahzara Claxton, a 20-year-old all-rounder from St. Kitts and Nevis, has been selected by the Trinbago Knight Riders for the upcoming 2026 Women's Caribbean Premier League (WCPL). This significant milestone comes shortly after Claxton earned a spot on the senior West Indies Women's team.
The 2026 WCPL will feature an expanded four-team format, taking place from September 5 to 15 at Kensington Oval in Barbados. Claxton will join a Knight Riders squad that includes established West Indies players like Deandra Dottin and Karishma Ramharack, contributing her skills as a left-hand batter and right-arm fast-medium bowler.
The tournament's expansion is anticipated to foster greater development opportunities for young female cricketers across the Caribbean. Each of the four participating teams will consist of a 15-player squad, with overseas player selections to be finalized soon.
