Jaguars Coach Confronts 49ers Coordinator After Upset Victory

Just moments after the Jacksonville Jaguars pulled off an upset victory over the previously undefeated San Francisco 49ers, a heated exchange took place between the two teams' coaching staff. As the coaches were leaving the field, Jaguars head coach Liam Coen appeared to have some choice words for 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh.

Coen was seen shaking his head as Saleh tried to approach him, before turning around and yelling, "keep my name out of your mouth," towards the 49ers coordinator. Saleh then started walking in Coen's direction, though it's unclear what he may have said in response.

The incident came just days after Saleh had praised the Jaguars for having "a really advanced signal-stealing type of system" in the lead-up to the game. However, Saleh had clarified that he was not accusing the Jaguars of any wrongdoing, stating "there's nothing illegal about it."

When asked about the exchange after the game, Coen chose to keep the details private, simply stating "not a big deal" and that he would keep it between the two coaches. 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan, meanwhile, shrugged off the incident, saying Saleh "shouldn't be that sensitive about it."

The Jaguars' surprise victory over the 49ers saw them rack up 325 yards of total offense, including a 48-yard rushing touchdown from running back Travis Etienne Jr. The win marked the Jaguars' first of the season, while handing the 49ers their first loss.
