Jacks Matches Warne's Unwanted Ashes Feat
21 Dec
Summary
- Will Jacks conceded over 100 runs in both Ashes innings.
- He joins Shane Warne as the only bowlers with this record.
- England trails by 356 runs at Stumps on Day 3.

In a remarkable turn of events during the third Ashes Test, England bowler Will Jacks has etched his name into the record books, albeit for an undesirable reason. Jacks has become the second cricketer, after the legendary Shane Warne, to concede over 100 runs in both innings of an Ashes Test. This unwanted distinction was achieved after he gave away 107 runs in 19 overs during Australia's second innings.
The first innings saw Jacks concede 105 runs while managing to take a couple of wickets. Shane Warne previously achieved this feat in the 2005 Ashes series, where he went for 122 and 124 runs in his two bowling innings, despite an impressive overall wicket tally of 12 for the match. While Warne's performance was part of a drawn series that England ultimately won, Jacks' struggles highlight England's difficult position.
As it stands at Stumps on Day 3, England trails Australia by a significant 356 runs. The ongoing series has already seen Australia take a commanding 2-0 lead. With the fourth and fifth Tests scheduled for late December and early January, Australia aims to build on their dominant position and secure another series victory Down Under.
