Rain Halts Irish Cup Clash: New Date Set
7 Feb
Summary
- Glentoran and Drumaness Cup tie postponed due to waterlogged pitch.
- The match was rescheduled for Tuesday, February 17.
- Limavady United caused a shock by eliminating Linfield.

The eagerly anticipated Irish Cup sixth-round tie between Glentoran and Drumaness has been postponed. The match, scheduled for Saturday afternoon at the Oval, was called off because of a waterlogged pitch resulting from prolonged and heavy rainfall. The pitch was deemed unplayable by Glentoran officials.
The rearranged fixture is now set to take place on Tuesday, February 17, with a 19:45 kick-off. This postponement means Drumaness Mills will have to wait longer for their chance at an Irish Cup upset.
Meanwhile, two other sixth-round games, Warrenpoint Town versus Larne and Institute against Loughgall, were scheduled to proceed as planned after pitch inspections on Saturday morning. The weekend also saw a major upset, with Championship leaders Limavady United knocking out the reigning Irish Premiership champions, Linfield.
