Summary
- Irfan Pathan suggests Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul as openers
- Pathan wants to see Sai Sudharsan bat at No. 3 to counter England's right-arm bowlers
- Pathan favors Rishabh Pant playing as a specialist batsman due to injury

In a recent video, former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan has shared his recommendations for India's playing XI for the upcoming 4th Test against England, which is scheduled to begin on July 23 in Manchester.
Pathan has proposed several changes to the lineup, starting with his preferred opening pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul. For the crucial No. 3 position, Pathan has expressed his desire to see Sai Sudharsan get an opportunity, noting that England have struggled to bowl effectively to left-handed batsmen in the series so far.
Regarding the middle order, Pathan has placed Shubman Gill at No. 4, followed by the injured Rishabh Pant at No. 5, who he believes should play as a specialist batsman. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja will slot in at No. 6.
With Nitish Kumar Reddy ruled out of the remainder of the series due to a knee injury, Pathan has named wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel as Reddy's replacement, who will take over the gloves from Pant. Pathan has also suggested that uncapped pacer Anshul Kamboj, who has been added to the squad, could make his debut, but he believes experienced seamer Prasidh Krishna should be the third pacer alongside Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj.
